In our studies of principalities and powers, we are exposing the doctrines, rites, and practices of the occult. We must look at the world through a biblical perspective to understand the wiles and tricks of the devil. One of the most shocking—yet undeniable—truths about the kingdom of darkness is this: almost all demonic manifestation relates itself in some way to sex.
Whether you are in the jungles of Africa, the villages of India, or the cities of America, you will find that demonic entities manipulate the baser sexual instincts of their victims. Statistically, there are more women and girls abused by Satan in this manner than men and boys. In the occult world, you will find more priestesses than priests, and more witches than warlocks. There is a profound, biblical reason for this.
In Exodus 32, we find the children of Israel waiting at the base of Mount Sinai while Moses was receiving the laws of God. Growing impatient, the people demanded that Aaron make them gods to lead them. Aaron fashioned a golden calf, and the people worshipped it, ate, drank, and rose up to play.
The key verse is Exodus 32:25: "And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies)..."
When people give themselves over to demon worship, the devil immediately seeks to strip away their clothing, dignity, and morality. Millions of demon worshippers today practice their rituals in the nude. This goes all the way back to the Garden of Eden. When Adam and Eve sinned, they lost their divine covering of light and found themselves naked. The devil always seeks to uncover and degrade humanity.
Why does Satan specifically target women for degradation? Eve was the first human to fall prey to the devil. Following the fall, God gave a prophecy in Genesis 3:15: "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel."
God declared that the seed of the woman (Jesus Christ) would ultimately destroy the power of the devil. Because of this, Satan harbors a deep, abiding hatred for women. He seeks to perpetuate her downfall and make her a slave in every culture across the world.
I have encountered numerous cases around the world that prove sex and satanic ritual go hand-in-hand. For example, the Church of Satan in San Francisco explicitly uses a nude woman upon their altar. But demonic sexual abuse goes even deeper into the supernatural realm.
In the Philippines, a young girl named Clarita Villanueva made national headlines when she was attacked by an invisible entity while in prison. Six grown men could not restrain her superhuman strength. When doctors examined her, they noticed she would be violently bitten whenever a man touched her. Under a demonic trance, Clarita explained that the entity claimed her as his lover. When the invisible demon attacked her, the doctors monitored her pulse and blood pressure, confirming that her body was experiencing the physiological responses of sexual intercourse. The devil was literally abusing her physically.
Similarly, an Indian evangelist named Lam Jivaratnam once shared an experience with me. While walking in meditation before a church service, an incredibly beautiful woman appeared before him, offering herself to him. Recognizing the spiritual danger, he closed his eyes and commanded Satan to leave in the name of Jesus. When he opened his eyes, the apparition was gone. God later revealed to him that if he had embraced that illusion, he would have been ensnared by a demonic spirit and lost his deliverance ministry forever.
The devil uses illicit sex as a tool to drag millions to hell. This includes the spirit behind homosexuality, which is not merely a natural or physical issue, but a demonic snare designed to defile humanity.
Another young man in the Philippines, Cornelio, was brought to me for deliverance. He had a terrifying ability to physically disappear from a room, causing his family immense grief and confusion. After God delivered him, I asked him how this started.
He explained that it began when a beautiful little girl in white appeared and touched him. Only when she touched him could he disappear and travel with her into the spirit realm. However, on the night he was delivered, the illusion was shattered. As I commanded the spirit to leave, he saw the "beautiful girl" transform into a hideous, ancient witch with fangs. The devil had bewitched him through a sexual and relational illusion.
Geography does not matter; demons operate the same way in the United States as they do in pagan lands. I once ministered to a woman from New Mexico named Susie Corriglio. She confessed to me that she was a widow because an evil spirit had caused her to choke her husband to death in his sleep. She had no memory of doing it until she came out of the demonic trance. The demon told her, "He cannot sleep with you; you belong to me." The entity was fulfilling her sexual desires and jealously murdered her husband to maintain control over her.
I witnessed a nearly identical situation in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where a woman suddenly began choking her husband during a church service. When I cast the spirit out, a masculine voice spoke through her, claiming she belonged to him and threatening to kill the husband.
This is the terrible reality of the occult. Satan and sex are deeply intertwined in demonic rituals and possession. The devil's ultimate goal is always defilement, degradation, and destruction. But through the power of the Lord Jesus Christ, we have the authority to expose these works of darkness and set the captives completely free.
